How to Change Options on Messaging A52

Just switched over from the A42 to the A52s. On the A42, when I received a text message I had the option to swipe down and either 'delete' or 'mark as read'. On the new phone it's 'mark as read' and 'archive'. I've looked everywhere I can think of but can't figure out how to get rid of the archive one and replace it with delete.

Have you tried the messaging app's settings, to see if there is an option to change from archive to delete? I would also be interested for the solution of this matter 😅.

Search for default apps in settings and switch the default messages option from the messages app with the icon (that's on the top here) to the one on the bottom. Newer Samsung phones since 2021 ship with the Google messages app, while the a42 has Samsung messages by defauly
