Just bought an A12 and it asked me to make a Samsung account to use some features. I tried but it kept asking me my phone number. I decided to make an account here and try to sign in to it on my phone but it is still asking me for my phone number. And no, there's no way in hell I am going to type in my phone number. I don't even have a sim card on that phone.

From Settings, I go to my Samsung Account, I tap on Security and privacy , then tap Two-step verification. There is literally no option to disable 2-Step. Tapping on Text messages doesn't help either. There is no option to even remove my number ! I even used the Authenticator app.... still nothing. I also added a different recovery email... still doesn't let me disable 2-Step. But from the "recovery methods" it shows my phone number and say and it says I can "Add or remove phone numbers" but tapping it takes me to the exact screen as "Text Messages" from above. I can't even turn it off from account.samsung.com !!! I mean, hell, I've even found official articles stating you can't turn off 2-Step.
Until you show me how to disable 2-Step authentication, You and AndrewL, two Moderators have Officially lied to me.

We can assure you we are not lying to you, @Anonymous User. There must be something slightly different with the layout and set up of your phone. Could you send us a screenshot of your phone once you've selected 'Security and privacy'. This won't show any of your personal information.

I already replied with screenshots because I knew that would be asked. But here it is again .
