highlighting the texts, messages and selecting the icons to delete

suddenly, i cannot be able to highlight the received or sent messages of my whatsapp contacts or samsung messages to copy or delete the same.  I am also not able to select an icon on lock or home screen to remove it or to move it to other place.  This might be because of a sudden change or might be because of my changing some options in the settings, but i can not recognise what options i did. can anyone show me solution.

I think you should try to clear the app cache first. Update your apps and phone, And Rebooting your phone can help it reconnect to your mobile network and fix any temporary app issues.
