Hi all , my wife has a A71 phone and I've just put another sim card in it and the signal bar is on one / two bars , I'm on the same network and I've tried the card in my phone and I get full signal. I've restarted , reset network settings etc but still the same, anyone any ideas ?

That's certainly a conundrum if your on the same network @Edgie70
It could be the sim card at issue.
If this becomes an issue then your network can replace the sim via a sim swap which moves your tariff etc from your current sim card to a blank sim card.
Phones do not latch onto the strongest signal. They follow the network assigned procedure, hence why it's not uncommon to be connected to a weaker signal than is strictly available

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
