With 3 years of software updates, I'm afraid out out of the time frame and so you have the latest update for your device

I've heard some that have found a way of routing their phones to try and get newer software.
But that fraught with danger and could brick the device if not done properly
Plus the new software is more processor heavy, so you would find your phone will probably be very slow and laggy
Best thing is to get a newer phone that's eligible for newer software.
You don't need to buy the latest. You can get a year old model for less money now

The A Series devices that will be updated to One UI7 are newer and more recent devices.
It has always been the case with mobile phones and tablets that they are only updated for a certain period due to advancements on technology.
When the A71 was released in 2020, it was eligible for 3 OS updates and it has had those. Other than possibly the odd Security Update (and that is unlikely now) it will not get any further updates.
Some more recent A Series devices will get 5 or even 6 years of updates but that will not be retrospective for your device.
Time to think about upgrading....

I want to opt for trade-in, but samsung isn't giving me that service because the device is quite old. Now they are pushing me to upgrade to a new device. How much do you suggest I sell this phone. I bought it February 2020, 128gb 4g no marks on it.

We aren't allowed to advertise on here so can't recommend but a quick Google search for mobile phone recycling comparison brings up a selection of culprits to choose from 😁. See what they offer
