Galaxy A53 (US version) does not support dual SIM?

I purchased Galaxy A53 in the US. When I open Settings-About Phone, I see only one IMEI number. Is this normal?

Its tray has two SIM slots in which two nano SIM cards fit. However, when I insert a SIM card to slot-2, then the card is not recognized. I tested using two SIM cards. When they are inserted to slot-1, then I can use the network as expected. If they are inserted to slot-2, then they are not recognized. In the Settings - About Phone - SIM card status, every value is 'not available'.

The specifications say that this product supports dual SIM. The tray also suggests that two nano SIM cards can be used. But the Android OS on this phone does not recognized a SIM card inserted to slot-2. What is wrong with this A53?

I talked to the Samsung tech support and he said that "team might choose to support second SIM slot in the future updates". However, he also says that device supports eSIM, so I don't know how much I can trust him 😞

For now, if you bought the device for dual SIM support (as I did), you, probably should claim incorrect website description and return it.

Same experience here. In connection  setting  there is no option for SIM manager.  The SIM 2 inserted but not recognized.  Why does Samsung not tell this upfront on product page? Or am I missing something. I would say poor customer  service. I had chatted on line with support and there was no mention of this. So frustrating 😫

I have the same issue here. I purchased Galaxy A53 at a local Best Buy store since the its floor display showing two IMEIs, but when I opened the setting only showed one IME. I returned phone. Yesterday I visited another Best Buy store in a different city, the salesman said I may need to update the system, so I purchased the same phone and updated the system, it still has only one IME. If Samsung does NOT support dual sim cards in USA, why send demos to Best Buy stores showing two IMEIs?

Same experience for me. When I called they samelessly tell that it will be supposed after an updated but we don't know when that update will be pushed. Now it has been 4 months but still no update to enable dual sim

If you look at the back of the box which the A53 came in, it says " This device hardware can support dual sim +microSD however dual SIM functionality will not be available at launch. A software update will be required for dual SIM functionality".

Samsung has not yet released it for the A53 5G, but probably the next android version or maybe a software update later on will enable it.

I have the Samsung A13 5G as well and it is a dual SIM but not enabled initially and about last month or so there was a software update which allowed two SIMS and works perfectly.

Probably need to wait a little bit until Samsung sends an update.

Would you, kindly, post the model number and software version from your phone?

US version (the subject of this conversation) has model SM-A536U1/DS and, with the software A536U1UES4AVH4 / A536U1OYM4AVH4 / A536U1UES4AVH4 (September security update), still supports only one SIM.

I purchased an A13 Dual SIM US, version, it functions just fine.  Both numbers work.  Both numbers are on Tracfone's (Verizon Wireless) CDMA network.  I'm still waiting for an update for my A53 Dual SIM US, version to have the dual SIM work.  I got an update today (11/1/2022) but it still doesn't support dual SIM.  This is frustrating because the A53 is a much nicer phone.
