Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone could provide some assistance. I'm currently in columbia and for the past few days have been trying to donwload an esim via a few reputable companies but am having no luck.
I am using samasung A545g model phone (version sm-a546b/ds) so is capable of supporting esim but when i try to download through the apps of Airelo foe example i can't install.
I have looked at manually installing but when i go to Connections>Sim Manager> i'm presented with the Add eSim button. Clicking on this just gives me 4 spinning samsung dots and does nothing. I know other videos i have watched seem to suggest there should be anothe button of add mobile plan>scan QR code.
Any assistance anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated!

@SouthAmericanDan: Are you based in Columbia, or have you travelled there from another region? Have you tried contacting your current mobile network to see if they offer eSIM support?
From what I understand, it will only be possible to add an eSIM from your current network, as you are locked to it when you insert a SIM card from that network, so this might explain why your efforts to add an eSIM from other providers have not been successful. Similarly, if you are outside your home region then this may also prevent you from registering an eSIM.

Hi Andrew, thanks for your response.
We are just embarking on a 6 months tour of South America and arrived a day ago from the UK. Unfortunately i am on a cheapish mobile network in the UK which is a rolling contract so they don't offer anything in SA other than extortiante fees.
I will reach out to them an ask but i believe my phone is unlocked and can accept multiple sims, including esim, but just wondering if i have a setting configured incorrectly. The A54 should be compatable with outside teh home region where i know some of the US models won't accept outside regions.

@SouthAmericanDan: The tour certainly sounds exciting! Did you make a 5-10 minute cumulative call to local numbers inside the UK, using your UK network SIM, prior to embarking on your trip? If so then your device should be unlocked for use with other networks, however I do recommend speaking with your network directly to see if they're able to shed any further light on the issues you're experiencing. It may also be worth considering purchasing a physical SIM card from a local network in Columbia, should your problem persist.
