Hi all,

I have a Galaxy A22 5G for almost 3 years and I have not deleted the browsing history on my Chrome browser since that time. However, when I checked it was only showing from approximately the last 3 months. Is it possible there is a default setting that automatically deletes this after a set period? If so, how would one access this. Many thanks if you can help!

Hi,and welcome to the UK community

Although there is a setting that can delete browsing data over a certain timescale, you will need to go into Chrome browser app settings and check. Remember your synced devices, too!

There may be an auto delete feature in Chrome accessible via a laptop that could, in theory, affect your synced devices. Im not by my laptop at the moment, so I can't check.

It's also possible that Chrome only shows the last 3 months' worth of data. This I can't verify as it's not something I check.

UPDATE: Found this info online
Your History page shows the websites you've visited on Chrome in the last 90 days. It doesn’t store pages from secure websites, pages you've visited in Incognito mode, or pages you've already deleted from your browsing history.

Workaround is this

Hi Robin999, really appreciate the feedback, I now know how to access the browsing history section. I am guessing when I may have accidently deleted part of the history. Many thanks for your efforts.

You're welcome. As said, Chrome only shows the last 90 days of history. The 'my activity' link is the only method I know of for viewing further back in time.
