There are a lot of people reporting an issue with battery drain across different Samsung Galaxy phones. It appears that a recent Samsung update is causing general issues and Samsung should provide a communication on when this will be resolved.

Up to last Thursday my phone worked normally. Since then the power has been draining at 4 to 5 times the usual rate with root cause being Samsung apps running in the background draining the power.

The issue appears to be widespread.

Samsung - Please advise on when this will be resolved

I also have a problem with my Galaxy A11, it drains the battery @ a 1% rate every 3 to 4 mins, I have tried everything from updates factory resets and battery reset but I still am failing to figure it out..

Restarting didn't help.

Seems to happen when I use bluetooth, especially when connecting to car.

Will let you know if I get any closer to solving.

Brand new A16 5G phone 1 week old.

Experiencing the battery draining is quick, gone from 80% to 61% to 57% in less than 20 minutes of being out of screen lock. No background apps are running. Battery saving power on. Optimisation on. Screen brightness is low?

This is frustrating. I actually feel like returning the phone. Considering I've had it for 1 week. I've also restarted x3. And still the same. My location is always off as well. So, idk anymore.

I too have just recently started having this issue, had A52 for over 2 years working fine then few days ago noticed my battery started draining at a rapid speed.i can be fully charged and down to 50% in next to no time it's very frustrating. I have done all the battery saving tips and it's still the same, whether my battery has just come to end of its life I'm unsure or if it's an actual issue which it seems it is judging by people's posts.hopefully it will resolve ìtself I don't really want to change my phone just yet

Greetings everyone,

Just wanted to share that my phone Samsung A71 was facing similar heating issues. All of a sudden from one day to the next the battery started draining alarmingly, like it would drain out in just a couple of hours after a full charge. Although the phone is old I was sure that it wasn't the battery problem in itself...just intuitively it felt like some app was causing the drainage. Even phone diagnosis showed all is fine and that no apps were using up the battery.

What I did though was that i went to the Apps window in settings and manually went inside each app...in there I did two things. One, cleared the cache for each app (left out the imp apps like banking cause not sure how that'll affect); and second, checked for each app how much battery has been used by that App since the last full charge.

So I was able to locate a couple of apps which were taking up too much of battery, like Google Meet, Samsung Accessibility, Samsung Digital Wellbeing...taking up from 2 to 8% of the battery. So I "stopped" or deactivated the apps , as I don't need them. Also some more like Maintenance etc were taking up too much, but this is needed for the phone to function so left it as it is. And additionally I of course deinstalled any extra apps which I didn't need anymore.

This solved the problem immediately! Hope this helps :smiling-face:

Same!  My wifes s23 is now almost unusable, my s24 takes an age to charge wirelessly.  All since the update.  Samsung will lose millions here.  It's all over social media, everyone is having problems and Samsung don't give a hoot!

Hi, do you see an option to 'stop' ...you could try this instead of deactivate. Am guessing that for the Samsung inbuilt apps one cannot deactivate them completely but stop and cache clearing should work...
