Currently when you recieve a call from a number and you want to call this number back but change like 1 digit because that person gave you another number from that same company, you have to (1) go to your recent calls, (2) click on the number, (3) click on the little (i) icon, (4) click and hold on the number, (5) copy that number to your clipboard, (6) go back to your "keyboard" tab in the phone, (7) click and hold on the empty space, (8) edit the number, (9) Dial it.
What you could do: (1) go to your recent calls, (2) click and hold on the number, (3) press "edit before calling",(4) automatically be switched to the view "keyboard" with the number already filled in,(5) edit the number, (6) Dial it.
Many other UIs already have this feature and I'm really asking myself, why Samsung never bothered to add this feature, it's such a simple change. Instead of only "Delete" in the context menu, add "Edit before call"

Hi, I am also extremely surprised copying a phone number from the call log, to edit, or to share the number via different messaging apps is not possible.
Your "developers" answer is based on the own usage, not on actual statistics, this feature is extremely used and needed. this is my first Samsung phone, and it just lost some points due to this un-professional response.

This is not a rare use case. In Brazil we need to use it always when we get a call from another city. I really mean it. Always! 100% of the time and I never had a phone that didn't have this function.
Is surreal, how many phones do you sell in Brazil? Hundreds of thousands. This is unbelievable.
I have to put 0 plus the code of the carriers before the number. In my case 21.
Só I get a call from
55+51 999999999
To call it back I have to dial
02151999999999 and I can't on your phone!

Hey... Senior software dev here... And uh yeah just got my first Samsung because I like the camera, but the UX is absolute *****. There are several obvious common use cases that are just being ignored... Being able to press and hold a number on your calls list and having a tooltip menu for copy, call, etc... Yeah that's super basic! And unless, y'all are writing spaghetti code, this should be super simple and totally not something in your backlog for years. POs want ROI ... I get it, but consumer retention feeds into that and UX missteps like this that are just being ignored are going to start costing you

It hasn't been a month and I already miss my pixel

It doesn't reassure me Paul because as a developer, I know it's not up to the developers and any self respecting PO would want evidence of why their opinion of the market seems to clash with that of your users. I've had burner phones that do this. OnePlus, does this Google does this, the use cases are Internet search, copy and paste for a text or email, saving the contact, just off the top of my head. It's not like you can get usage data off of a feature you don't have, so what have they purchased that data from a company with comparable users which has the feature and found it lacking usage? Highly doubtful

The goal of UX is ease and simplicity... 4 clicks loses to 1 especially when the industry standard is 1!

100% These UX devs are probably trapped in a monolithic corporate mindset where every decision has to be workshopped and put through a ridiculous pipeline of cost benefit analyst and decision makers and self important middle managers with their thumbs up their 👍👍👍👍👍 before heading to the committee that checks to make sure that no endangered species will go extinct at which time assuming all is going well then the CEO and Board of directors have to sign off... ONLY THEN will we get this ABSURDLY SIMPLE REQUEST filled. Copy A Recent Number option next to the EXISTING delete option... ***** this is 😭

In which place in the planet you assume this is a rare case, actually it is very rare to don't have this feature، just pick any other phone than samsung and check it

Bro, what is stopping you to download google dialer?
12-02-2024 10:46 PM
First of all... Learn to read, my names Heather so I'm obviously not a bro. Secondly, I bought a Samsung phone. First thing I did was download Google's keyboard etc because the Samsung native ones were *****... The point is I shouldn't have to. It's basic functionality that a large name such as Samsung should be able to deliver.
