Hi. So basically, my A71 phone's microphone randomly stops working (any voice recording thing on the phone doesn't work and Calls too - I can't be heard and I can't hear them) and the only thing I can do it's a restart and it gets back to working. But after a while, or a random time, it stops again. It has been like this for like a month or two and it's getting SO annoying. Sometimes the phone freezes and it's like a "hey, your microphone crashed right now" *joke*(after it's starting to freeze the mic doesn't work. at all.). Please, please, please, I've done a:factory reset, changed sim slots (1 to 2 back and forth), restarted the WI-FI router, someone know what is this about?!

Hello

I had this problem for months. Even restarting wasn't sorting it. 3 days ago I spent few hours trying to find problem. My device protection was turned off because I had Norton Mobile. Once I turned Device Protection back on my mic has been working perfectly since. Fingers crossed.

The year is 2024 and the same problem still persists on my phone. It is very interesting that Samsung has not yet solved this problem. There is no sound on the other side of my phone calls at random times. A few times either I or the other party call again but since the result does not change I turn the phone off and on and it is fixed. It has become annoying to do this constantly. My preference for Samsung, which started with the S2, has been going on for years but thanks to this phone I have lost interest in Samsung. I can no longer stand these restarts and will buy a phone from another brand other than Samsung.

I have the exact same issue with my device and I've never heard of any other device doing the same thing. it is very annoying and no audio works unless you reset the phone. I have had my "sound chip" replaced and the lower half of my phone's internals. (The motherboard with the mic and aux jack on). Never the less in the 4 years and 11 months that I've had the phone I've never found a solution for this. It is sad because i really like the A71 and I've yet to find a replacement phone for it and this is the only reason the i want to replace it, otherwise I'm happy to stick with the A71 for as long as it keeps up.

Hi Guys, so i recently encountered this issue....painfully every time my mic stop worked! i restarted the phone to fixed the issue. SOLUTION : I ensured the phone was backup via cloud and did a factory reset as Samsung does not allow an update roll back option. The factory reset worked for me, it reverse the update that was causing the issue.  Phone works perfect now!

Have the same issue for more than a year. I am a Senior Citizen and not an IT or cell phone expert. But the unfortunate thing is that no one, even Samsung Services, understand how to correct it. These days I am facing this problem atleast 3-4 times a day!

It gets temporarily solved when I restart the phone.

Is it is really too difficult for Samsung to find an easy solution?

Next week, I am travelling and I am worried that how I will cope with this nuisance.

Seek help from Samsung, please.

I've tried this (the phone dial) but when I do it, there is no available button for mic test, is there any other way or is it just a launch bug?
