Hi all, just wondering if anybody has any advice please. I have an A54, setup from new. Installed apps from Google play without issue. However, my phone restarts regularly when not being used. I put it into safe mode for a night, no reboots so likely software. It has latest updates, no malware. Android 13 with October security patch. Cheers!

Hi @almcq   If  not having  restarts whilst in safe Mode this would suggest a 3rd party app or theme may be the issue. can you pinpoint any you have installed lately.  Are you apps in addition to software also all up to date?  Do you have a lot of apps running when the issue  is occurring ? In Device care could also free up memory  by closing Background apps periodically.

It would also be an idea to clear the cache partition as this can help with lags,  temporary cache files are deleted but your Data is intact.   Follow these steps:

1. Turn off the device.
2. Connect To Computer or plug in USB-C Headphones , Press and hold the Volume Up key and then press and hold the Power key
3. When the Android logo displays, release all three keys.
4. Wait until the Android system recovery menu options appear.
5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
6. Press Power key to select.
7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

Can also repair apps from the same Recovery Menu.

Hi James, interesting I cleared the cache partition on my old phone (not this one) last week. That phone was an A51. It didn't help unfortunately and eventually the A51 became totally unusable and couldn't get out of a boot loop. The last app I'd installed on the A51 was Chatgpt from Google play store. I managed to get the A51 working for a few minutes to remove the ChatGpt all but problems persisted with the A51. So...I purchased an A54, went through initial setup. During setup it detected an older backup from my A51. I selected to restore, in hindsight perhaps a bit foolish. I then noticed similar reboots issues on the A54, albeit not stuck in a boot loop. I decided to do another factory reset on the A54 today, fresh install, selected apps just that I needed, banking and a few others but not many, all from the playstore. I've not done a system wipe cache on this phone but I will certainly try that. I did notice earlier also that the android set up service was still trying to run in the background so I've stopped that app. Cheers for your recommendations.

No problem, thanks for the detailed explanation. Installing older Backup may have caused problems, yes best to only have the background apps that are necessary.

Hi there, I am also facing the same problem like you, it just restarts suddenly, and sometimes the boot time takes just only a few seconds and you will be back to your screen. Did you find any solutions for it or this is some issues that this Samsung A54 have and need to get used to it.
