Hello,

Brand new A54, stock ROM, etc. --  except for the first ever connection to 5 gHz wifi that was used to download all initial updates -- now I have not been able to connect to my home 5 gHz wifi (currently channel 44). I reset network profile, used the "forget" option, etc. but still not able to resolve the issue. All patches including the recent Google Play system update referenced in a similar post

https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/galaxy-a-series/cannot-connect-to-5ghz-network/m-p/9132665

were installed.

The same wifi setup was used with my previous Galaxy S10e and worked fine. Other devices connected to the same 5 gHz wifi work fine.

hi there, you could try to reset wifi and Bluetooth settings, you can do this by settings>General management>reset>reset wifi and Bluetooth settings. hope this helps.

Hey there.

Did you try what @UNKNOWNUSERNAME suggested? I'd suggest you try a soft reset to see if that helps (Press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons for 10 seconds until the phone restarts).

Also, make sure Power saving mode is off by going to Settings > Battery and device care > Battery > Power saving mode > Make sure the switch is toggled off.

Thanks - I had tried this prior to installing the most recent updates. I did it now and no change unfortunately 😞

If it is of any help to diagnose further... I am some 4 meters away from the router (Fun Box 3, a very popular one in Poland, provided by Orange).

have you tried resetting the router? maybe changing the channel via your routers admin dashboard?

@UNKNOWNUSERNAME - yes, I restarted the router a while ago and before I get to the point of restarting the router... I was ready to announce a victory when I changed my wifi password and removed a single full-stop from it - my password used to be like XXXX.XXXX and once I changed it to XXXXXXXX my 5 GHz connection was working all fine (immediate connection, full speed). Victory lasted for something like half an hour. After that, connection to 5 GHz was not possible or possible but with no internet connectivity. And getting to router restart now - the same - restarting it makes connection to 5 GHz possible and fast and after some (reasonably) short period of time my A54 5 GHz wifi "dies" while other devices (laptops and older Samsung) retain full connectivity and speed. It seems to be time-bound - after router restart, no matter whether my A54 is idle or I am streaming large quantity of data, after some 30 minutes its 5 GHz connection "dies". Initially I was on channel 36, now I am on 44 - no change.

Settings -> About phone -> Software information -> Google Play system update -- found an update this morning, installed - issue fixed***. It still says update is as of Jan 1st, 2024 (after update) which is the same as before update but it made my phone able to maintain a 5 gHz wifi connection with nearly expected speed. I am optimistic to check tomorrow that it is a permanent fix.

*** it is not ideal yet as I am getting only 240-260 Mbps instead of expected 300 (a rule on the previous mobile with the same router and conditions) which is still much better to 2.4 gHz which gave me approx. 50 Mbps.
