Since the update the phone works for 30 mins and then goes to emergency calls. The phone was working fine until this update and is only usable inside the house with WiFi. If I go outside it goes to emergency calls only and won't dial anyone.
The device check shows the volume buttons aren't working which they are and everything on the device checks says its normal.
We cant clear the cache as the phone won't let us.
Is there a fix for this as we are considering having to ditch this phone as it doesn't function appropriately.

I totally understand how frustrating it must be dealing with your A53 after the One UI 7.0 update—it’s never fun when things stop working properly after an update. To start, try resetting your network settings, as that can often fix connectivity issues like the ones you're experiencing. You can also try a force restart by holding the power and volume down buttons for about 10 seconds. If the problem persists, try booting into Safe Mode to see if a third-party app might be causing the issue. Clearing the cache partition in recovery mode could also help resolve any system glitches. If none of these steps work, a factory reset might be worth considering, but make sure to back up your data first. If you're still having trouble after that, contacting Samsung Support or visiting a service center might be your next best option. Hopefully, one of these fixes will get your phone back to working as it should!

I'm in the exact same boat. I even changed network providers and I'm still getting the "emergency calls only" and "no service" messages on my top banner. I'm also getting very intermittent Internet signal. It drops out all the time and even what it says I have 5G and 4G, it doesn't work! So frustrating.

Some other ideas not mentioned, toggle Airplane Mode off and on when using Mobile Data and restart your Device.  if using physical sim you may need to remove sim, gently wipe and reinsert. you could disable wifi in this situation to see if that makes a difference.  check there are no known issues with your Network.

when you say you cannot clear the cache partition are you connecting to computer, other Mobile Device or USB port. Follow these steps to enter Recovery Mode.

1. Turn off the device.
2. Connect To Computer , other Device or TV USB, Press and hold the Volume Up key and then press and hold the Power key
3. When the Android logo displays, release both keys.
4. Wait until the Android system recovery menu options appear.
5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
6. Press Power key to select.
7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

However if there is indeed a problem  you may wish to try a Factory Reset as mentioned after backing up. you can send an Error Report via Samsung Members. Samsung Members-Support-Send Feedback-call/Message or other appropriate category.  Detail the issue and ensure system logs are enclosed.

However know there has been specific issues with A14 and an update should fix that, unaware of something similar with A53 but cannot be discounted.

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.
