Front camera

Hi my front camera isn't working in messenger I'm using A56 5g any ideas please?

@Kazzy101: What happens when you attempt to access the front camera in Messenger? Do you get any error messages or notifications? If you head to Settings > Apps > Messenger > Permissions, is the relevant permission in place to access your camera?

Hi Andrew, I have tried that and it makes no difference at all. It's a new phone so cannot understand why it's doing this. Thanks for your advice.

@Kazzy101: Is the front camera working as expected when you open the Camera app? Are you able to clarify exactly what happens when you attempt to access the front camera in Messenger?

It doesn't work when on camera app either. When I go to messenger I video call but the screen is black, it works fine on normal back camera.

@Kazzy101: Do you have a case or cover on the phone which might be obscuring the front camera? If not, try heading to Settings > Apps > Camera > Force stop > Storage > Clear cache, then restart your device to resolve any software issues which might be a contributing factor.

If the problem persists then, to check the hardware, please head to the Phone app > Dial *#0*# into the Keypad > Select 'Front cam' from the series of grey tiles. Does the issue persist while accessing the front camera in this manner?
