A40 failing to auto reconnect to wifi

Hi everyone, 

My A40 has stopped automatically reconnecting to wifi if I wander out of range. This has only recently started happening.  I have checked the wifi connection and 'auto reconnect' is toggled. I have triggered 'forget network' and then re connected. Problem persists.

Furthermore,  when I get back in range I find the phone has toggled wifi to 'off', so it cannot reconnect. 

This can be a real nuisance as I don't have much data on my mobile contract.

Anyone have thoughts on this?

Have you set to auto connect to Wi-Fi in Settings @foxinthehouse in the Intelligence Wi-Fi Settings.
