Have had my A14 for a month. The fingerprint sensor has worked until now. I now get the message "Hardware for fingerprint not installed". The sensor on the side button is quite clean. Ideas how to fix this?

Hello @BertilB and Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum 👋
I'm sorry to learn your experiencing issues with your phone.
Some troubleshooting steps are >
- Clear Cache Files from the phone's System Partition Section > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/ You may need to insert your earphones or hook upto a powered On Laptop or use a Tv's USB Port to access the Clear Partition Section. This may help with lag or stutters as this clears the phone of old/unused or broken cache files.There is also a Repair Apps option in the Menu System too { Possibly excluding the s²⁴ Series of phone's }
- https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/my-fingerprint-scanner-isnt-working.
- Try a forced reboot by holding down the volume down key and power button simultaneously for more than 7 seconds to restart it. When your phone resets, you will feel it vibrate.
If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask 😎

A restart seems to be the first step. Is this the Reboot that BandOfBrothers suggest? But, do I loose all data and apps on the unit?

Thanks for your advice. I did the Clear your cache partition. No effect, still the message The fingerprint sensor does not work. Did the Forced reboot. No effect. There was no option Repair Apps in the Menu system, so I could not do that.
