A05s Compass not working

the compass is not working on my A05s, gps works fine so does altimeter, but not the compass it stuck facing N. i cant find anything or anyway to calibrate it

i have read it can be done by going into edge panel but the A05s does come with edge pane, what can i do?, all my previous smart phone have a default tools or calibrate app install for this job but seem not this phone.

any help would be welcome

Hi, and welcome to the community

Your device doesn't come with a gyroscope, magnetometer, or compass. It has an accelerometer, so the phone can tell if it's moving, but nothing to tell it in what direction.

@dazraz1: I can confirm that the Galaxy A05s does not feature a Geomagnetic sensor, which is required in order to utilise a compass on your device.

i know the A05s is not a "premium" model but it is a bit surprising it does not have a compass as many cheaper phones do.

I guess i will have to replace the arrow on the map with a dot that way its not always pointing north.
