Samsung Magician failing to install properly on Windows 11 Pro Mele 4C mini PC

Hi

I recently purchased a Mele quieter 4C mini PC with Windows 11 Pro preinstalled. The device has a 256GB eMMC drive and a generic 256GB ssd. I upgraded the ssd to a 1Tb Samsung 990 Evo with a view to cloning the Windows 11 Pro to it. I downloaded Samsung Magician 8.1.0 to the eMMC but it wouldn't complete the install saying it couldn't install some of the components. Magician 8.1.0 runs fine on my desktop. I'm stuck now unless I buy another brand of cloning software! Anyone know why the Magician installation fails and if there's a fix for it? Is it that there's a problem with an eMMC drive or with the 990 Evo in a Pcie 3 x 4 system? Presumably Magician would at least install even if no Samsung ssd is present?

Thanks for any help!

Can you find a standalone copy of Samsung data migration tool and use that. I believe it's now incorporated into Magician but there must still be a standalone version out there.

Just an aside but your/Samsung's email reply tried to redirect me to a known dangerous site. Better scan your system with an antivirus program!

Sorry, I have no idea what you're on about! I don't use Samsung email and more importantly this communuty platform isn't operated via email. There are no web links in my reply which was typed on my Android tablet. Have you scanned your system?

I get notifications by email from this community. Depending on which part of the email I happen to click on I get a warning:

Sorry, I'm not Samsung. I'm just an ordinary user like yourself. You must be using the community website to post/view. I use the members app and don't receive such emails.
You should report this to Samsung if you feel the link is malicious.

Hi again

Yes, I know you're just another user - I was simply alerting you of the message I got! I don't use phone apps if I can help it - I'm too old, lack dexterity and the phone screen is too small! I don't know who to report it too but perhaps someone in authority (a moderator, maybe?) will see these posts.

@Sam_UK

Could you please assist with this. User gets a notification email when somebody replies to their posts and apparantly the weblink included in the email is being flagged as malicious.

Hi @LuLu52 ,

An odd one! Clicking that link in your posts brings up a '400' error for me:

I tested the links from the email notifications I get from here (the emails have a 'no-reply@eu.community.samsung.com' email address), and they checked out okay when I clicked on them via MS Outlook. Mind you, I don't have Norton installed - I've got AVG.

The site wouldn't let me post the complete html. Here is a screen clip from clicking on 'visit site' in the email notification:
