On my Samsung galaxy book multi control recently got updated and now when loading the app it says:
Update Samsung Continuity Service
To use Multi Control, you need to update the
Samsung Continuity Service.
Update

My hones review of the app on the Microsoft store: It tells me I need to update the Samsung community service but when clicking update it has no update available?
The connectivity between the laptop and phone needs to be more clear.
I hope that we can use the multi control even though the phone is locked and folded. It seem an app get an update and other apps don't then get updated and this then causes problems. This is seen form the Samsung community service not being updated at the same time as this app causing problems. This is also seen by the new logo for multi control it has not been updated on Galaxy Book experience, showing how one app gets updated but others don't causing problems! But this is not just for this app this is for all apps on the galaxy books!

Simple answer was Microsoft taking their time to approve the update. So one was approved first and the other later!

Hi buddy i am rocking a Book2 Pro, stopped using multi control when I ditched my tablet, but loved it, your issue is down to Windows or Samsung changes to the Update tool, it worked perfect for years and a few months back, it started to say its no more and is within Device Care, which always just says no update.
Probably best to try a Samsung Tech Call

Ok an easier solution, i spotted this morning it is being updated via the MS App Store, best to check that and see.
I launched Multi Control and got this message
Which in turn opened a window back to the MS App store to update Samsung Continuity Service.

Ignore it, it is just checking and the app is up to date.
My guess is it is Microsoft pulling rank and wanting it all back in their app store, shame I really liked the standalone Samsung one, or possibly Samsung decided too much headache to keep supporting all these app, options.
