So to give you a run down, it's not the typical thermal expansion noise you get within the first 10 mins the noise I am getting is from right behind the right side of the monitor and is a constant clicking noise, not a pop here and there the noise does not stop and what I can compare the sound to is like sticking a plastic straw in a fan blade.

Anyone had this issue or can point me in the right direction as I got the monitor used a few years back so warranty is out the window.

Thanks

Hi there 👋, it could be due to plastic stretch from a temperature differences, have you tried to turn the brightness all the way up and see if that persists?

Turning the brightness lower creates a louder click and brighter is more repetitive but less loud, it's not temperature please I know what the sound is when the temperature is warming the plastic it makes a cracking sound and it is not that it is more like a constant fan sound here is a Reddit link to the video I hope it clears up the sound cause it's most definitely not the temperature crackling sound they usually make https://www.reddit.com/r/ultrawidemasterrace/s/7ugQJ4HypY

This seems to be a pretty major issue with the moniter, possibly a cooling fan has got something hitting the blades as some monitors do have cooling fans, not sure about this one but it may, or it could be the motherboard capacitor that has popped and keeps popping as ot tries to charge up without the internals of it causing a arc which is the sound you may be hearing, but either of which require you to disassemble the moniter

Think it's the latter tbh I think a capacitor is either on its way out or like you say creating an arc, it's going to a repair shop on Tuesday for a diagnosis however I'm just hoping it's a case of swapping out a power board as the one needed for my model is pretty cheap on eBay so hoping a Buisness can source one from Samsung pretty cheap if not I'll have to risk an eBay board as the monitors broke in my eyes now anyway

Hey! I just got this monitor for testing, yesterday everything was fine, today I also had this strange clicking sound when I turned it on. @CobyJ Did the diagnosis manage to determine what was wrong?

I didn't sorry, for some reason it stopped doing it after a few days I just left it off for about a day or so and then next time I turned it on it was fine, it's happened again since but again left it a day and it stopped again, it seems to happen more after about 4 hours of the monitor being left on

I wouldn't worry though however since then I have had some static like image on windows boot but I'm attributing that more towards my pc itself as bios screen is always on so looks like my whole pc set up is slowly falling apart 😂😂

When I turned down the brightness a bit, the clicking disappeared, but it still seems quite funny.
