I just bought this monitor today and its stressing me out.

I've connected my ps5 to this monitor and enabled vrr and 120hz in the ps5 settings. I'm playing spiderman miles morales in fidelity mode (30fps mode) but I've enabled 120hz displayed mode (which should bump fps upto 40fps).

The monitor does not like this. Anytime 120hz mode is on, the screen goes black every few minutes, as if the hdmi connection has been lost.

The main reason I bought this monitor was for the hdmi 2.1 port. But it's not allowing me to enjoy 120hz mode. Even the fps counter keeps glitches in this mode. It keeps flashing between 85hz & 120hz. Even though it should be 40fps or less. How can I stop the flickering?

Since I couldn't find the firmware on samsungs website, I searched for other solutions. Yesterday, I played for over an hour with VRR on and didn't have any issues at all. What I did:

- Deactivate HDCP on the PS5 and then restart the console.

- I bought a new HDMI 2.1 cable for like CHF 20.- (try to use one that is max. 1m long - the original PS5 cable is 1.5m)

I hope this will help you too. I have this monitor: 28" Odyssey G7 Gaming Monitor G70B | Samsung Support Schweiz

Hi folks,

I still have the file... I'm currently creating a link to share with you all.
On Samsung website you can find how to upload using an usb stick.
It's quite simple, you just need to unzip the file and connect to your monitor, and with the remote you go to settings and search for updates. You might have to switch off auto updates in order to your monitor to find the file on the usb stick.
I will post the link as soon as I manage to upload the file... it's about 1.5gb.

Cheers!

Hi guys,

Just a quick post to say that it's best not to share personal info such as your email address on a public forum, as you'll open yourself up to contact from all sorts. If you need to, you always share your email address etc. in Private Message between each other though. 👍

I have the samen problem with the LS28BG700EPXEN. Can't find any firmware and the samsung support centre is not able to help. I think I fixed it by turning the VRR off on the PS5 and activate it on the monitor. You can activate VRR on the monitor at picture settings/Expert settings/VRR control. I don't know if it has any effect on the performance but at least the issue with the black screens seems to be fixed.

Cheers

I had the same problem , I bought 2 for my workstation the size was perfect but.... I send them back a couple days ago

Connected to 4090 asus rog oc. Through display port, it gives a native resolution of 4K and 120 Hz. If you leave the computer stopped and suspend the monitors, there was no way  to reactivate them and you have to reset the PC. I have already tried everything, including a 16K display port cable. If I connect it via HDMI, ok, but it only gives native resolution 4k at 60Hz whatever the cable, I have 8k HDMI 2.1 cables and there is no way to change it and if you increase it to 120 it gives random screenshots of 1 or 2 seconds, thing. unbearable while working or doing some simulation.

On the other hand, I configure them and every now and then I have to configure them again, the brightness does what it wants even with the automatic brightness disabled, you remove the game mode from the image so that it is more realistic and you put it in graphic and it It changes when it comes from the soul.....

I have bought the two monitors to work and I cannot be wasting more than half an hour every day in configurations or restarting the computer because I am going to have a coffee and then it does not restart, I have tried everything, canceled hibernation by code, deactivating the shutdown USB ports when it goes to sleep but with the Display port once it goes to sleep there is no way to activate the monitors again.

Finally, I have chosen to try to cancel the suspension and I have only activated it to turn off the monitors after 10 minutes and if you leave it for more than 20, the monitors no longer reactivate, whatever I do, you have to hit reset or turn off the computer and come back to turn it on, and even then it misconfigures some lmonitor option, leaving them unpaired.... it's amazing how someone can sell this as a pointer. The monitors are connected by cable to the internet and have been updated to the latest firmware on their own the first time they are turned on, all the drivers are the latest and the cables are of the highest quality. my pc is a workstation with an i9 13900k, 64 GB at 6000 and the asus rog strix 4090 oc card, all with the drivers updated to the latest, I have looked for solutions or tried other options and in the forums themselves they end up saying that it is a An endemic problem with these monitors since the launch and that they have not completely solved.

I have the same issue on my g7 28 monitor, only happens on my ps5 (not one my series s hdmi 2.0 cable), and nothing so far has worked, tried disabling vrr, disabling hdcp, upgraded to the new 1520 version, and nothing solves it. I noticed for me it ususally happens after about 30 minutes and once it starts happening it would occur every few minutes. It is so annoying... we need a solution.

Hi I also just purchased this moniter and was experiencing the same issues.
I went to the Samsung website and found the correct download file and then updated my moniter and it is FIXED 🙌🏻

Before you start make sure you format your flash drive/usb stick to fat32.

Step 1: click on this link

  https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/model/LS28BG700EPXXU/#downloads

Step 2: Scroll down to Upgrade File (USB TYPE) and download.

Step 3: once downloaded click on the file until you get to the actual file which is around 1.5gb and drag this into your USB stick and wait for it to copy

Step 4: plug USB into your moniter and go to software update, once you’ve clicked this it should give you the option to scan your USB, if it doesn’t work then you’ve dragged in the wrong file.

this definitely fixes the issue.
