Fishslapman did... right above your post... a fricking year and this his suggestion works! Samsung could not even tell us this! Now I just hit the power button to bring it back on.. Next will try and get the mouse and keyboard to wake it up.

Bought this C49RG9 Monitor at microcenter maybe a year ago or a little less. Tried all the recommendations in this thread. No disrespect to any of the people who go theirs working but Samsung is a joke. After a couple weeks in the beginning dealing with this I figured there had to be some kind of firmware fix for this. Did they not test these monitors. Well no they didn't and they don't care enough to fix it. I'll tell you I have stopped buying all samsung's products. They used to be awesome. Used to be the name for high tech high quality. Everything I've bought in the last few years from samsung has been utter garbage. My $3,200 Fridge can't make ice and I have to have a countertop ice maker running all the time. Repair man has been our twice and I just give up. Samsung watch they promised they would release ECG shortly so I bought it instead of the apple and then they never got it approved in the US and a few months later the battery inside explodes the screen off the front of the watch. Samsung monitor doesn't wake up from it's sleep mode and nobody knows why or cares to fix it. Well I'm not posting this hoping to get any help because I know that won't come but I am posting it to let people know to just stop buying this company's stuff. I have moved on from Samsung now. This monitor is the last samsung product I will ever buy. I bought the microcenter extended warranty so maybe I'll take it back and just tell them that samsung has failed to fix an easily fixable flaw that makes me waste a few seconds every time I want to use my computer and it isn't a ton of time but it's enough that it just drives me crazy.

I had the same issue. I went through my PC checking all the power saving modes. I had turned them all off, and yet my monitor still turned itself off. I then had to press the button at the front which was underneath the screen in the middle area. (Where this button is located does vary between different devices.) I soon realised that this is the Samsung rocker button that has multiple functions in it. I soon realised that the screen was set to eco-saver mode, and was shutting itself off after 4 hours on my device. I turned the eco-mode off, and the problem is solved. I can then use the PC settings once more to make the monitor do what I want it to do. I had previously posed a similar question to Samsung relating to a different Samsung monitor and the person I spoke to didn't seem to have a clue about these settings. I have posted this,in the hopes that it helps other Samsung owners. It isn't a fault at all. It is is just the setting on the rocker switch. This rocker switch has various settings incorporated into it.

I have the L34G5 model and I checked all energy saving options on the actual monitor but the only way I could get a workarround for this was to set the HDMI version on the monitor from 2.0 to 1.4 Then it would wake up with my computer and not go to sleep.

Well I have had my CRG9 for quite some time now and have constantly had this issue, even early on I had it sent of under RMA for repair but it come back as "no fault"
So I have been bearing with it and at times just using powertools to stop the monitor going to sleep, not exactly best but save the pain of trying to get the monitor back on.
Anyway it's finally taken it toll and I am now looking for a new monitor from a different brand, sorry Samsung but if you refuse to even acknowledge this issue then you lose my custom, same as many here, use to be a samsung fanboy, but have now moved away.

Along the bottom edge of your screen (in the centre) there is a little toggle button. There are loads of settings all operated from this, including the sleep timer for your screen. Have a fiddle with it, and I am sure your problem will soon be resolved.

Thanks for your reply @Steve881
But I think the original issue here is different to yours.
The issue a lot of people are having here is that, if you leave your computer after X amount of time the screen will go off, which is good and exactly what I want, however when I come back to my computer and move the mouse the screen should come back on.
It does come on but shows the input but a blank screen and the only way to then get it to not be blank is to turn the monitor off and then back on again, and still sometimes I have to do that twice before I have a picture back.
It's a weird but frustrating issue

So I have the same problem and had been making do with the monitor's power button. I came here because that has stopped working all of a sudden, and I don't know why.
However, I can lend a few additional info points to anyone else with this issue (and for the record, I've got all the monitor-side auto settings off as suggested throughout this thread)
1. My work laptop, which is connected via HDMI and running Windows 10 does not have this issue.
2. My old laptop, which was also connected via HDMI before my new PC build did not have this issue, also running Windows 10.
3. My new PC, which is connected by Displayport and running Windows 11 DOES have this issue.
So it could be an issue with the DisplayPort inputs to the monitor. It could be an issue with the signal Windows 11 sends to the monitor. But it DOES appear to be related to something on the PC or Connection side of the monitor.
I have not yet tried using HDMI on my PC to see if the problem persists, but that'll be my next stop, then I might need to dive into my nVidia or Windows 11 settings. I might try that BiOS fix someone suggested last year.
