Hello every one.
I was looking for a forum that might help me with my old samsung laptop.
Also I am writing in english and choose the european comunitie since I like to reach as many forum readers as possible.
But it seems this is not a forum at all? and I am forced back to dutch?
I hope It products also includes samsung laptops.
If not I really hope samsung can tell me where to go to get some super simple support.
The only thing I like to know is what is the latest bios version that samsung made for my laptop. Okay and where I can find that bios?
My laptop was bought in 2014 but made in 2013 so about 7.5 years old but still more than capable enough for daily tasks. But it sometimes wakes up and decides to run at 1.79mhz insetad om the 2.67 it is supposed to run at. I have to power off and on sometimes more than once and it is irritating. Maybe bios upgrade would help.
My current bios is P07ABF, 4-7-2013 and my laptop model: np355e7c s05nl. running windows 10.
Samsung support told me to use Samsung updsate form teh windows store. But this (obviously) does not show anything for windows 10. Only win 81. and 7. And SW update does not work on windows 10. Actullay I think samsung dropped all support for swupdate by turning of the servers behind it.
I really think I do not ask for much. I just like to know what's the latest bios version. I cannot figure it out with Samsung update. (maybe I am to stupid but it does not show anything)
So please tell me or please tell me were I could find more info?
7.5 years is not a new laptop but it is not that old. I bet it still performs better than most chromebooks.
I hope some one reads this. I find it a very unclear forum.
Did Samsung stop making computers?
Regards
Hans

Hi @LaptopUser0032,
Welcome to the Dutch Samsung Community.
Unfortunately, your laptop is not made for Windows 10. That's why you can't update the BIOS any longer through SW Update. You are on the latest BIOS already.
We also don't sell laptops anymore in the Benelux. If you're experiencing issues, we can try and apply the laptop for repair. But you will be charged for the repair, since it no longer has warranty.
Let me know if you want to get the laptop repaired 👍

Hi Bruce thank you for taking to time to reply.
So I am on the latest bios. That is all I wanted to know so no use looking for a newer bios. (hoped it was not on the latest).
My laptop is not broken. It works fine except that it does not always come out of hibernation at full speed but gets stuck at 1.79 and nothing will get it back to normal speed. Shutting down (power off) and booting up usually fixes it.
But I was messing around with amd overdrive and there is a green ball next to the preferences button at the top. If I click the green ball it gets a red line around it. When this red line is on the cpu does not get below 2.66ghz even if its idle. if click it again the cpu it can go down to 1.38 ghz when idle. So far I have not had the problem again. So maybe this is a fix for others with this problem. But it has not been very long since I found this setting. It seems to survive reboots too.
Anyway thank you for checking the bios version and explaining that Samsung is no longer selling laptops over here. I did not know that.
