image.jpgI recently got a new sound bar. It connects fine with no issues and I can control the volume with the Samsung remote but I no longer have a number for the volume, only a plus / minus when I move the volume up and down. Is there anyway to have the numbers appear?

Thank you for the feedback. Unfortunately my sound bar (sonos arc) does not have a menu.

Seriously.  My $300 Roku TV and $280 FireTV's can display external device volume because they are smart.  Not sure why we bought the $1600 Samsung.  It always hates pre E-Arc receivers, can't handshake the audio. This NeoLED tv is for the birds, never had any of these issues with any tv I have owned, let alone anyone I know, except for other Samsungs. I should have listened to my cuz.

Hey all,

I seemed to fix this for my stuff by turning both off with a hard reset. I did this by holding the power button down for about 5 seconds (the tv will turn off and then restart itself whilst holding down the power button, not sure if it actually worked with the soundbar, but I did it anyway).

Then I reconnected the tv output audio to the soundbar and the numbers were back.

Hopefully this works for someone else.

Hello all,

i managed to fix this.

I had an LG sound bar with the same problem. I purchased Samsung sound bar (B550) and it now shows the numbers and everything is ok, and it even connects faster (using HDMI).

Samsung maybe doing this for purpose reasons for you to buy their soundbars.

I have the same problem with a Polk soundbar. Numbers work when connected via bluetooth but do not work when connected via hdmi

do a hard reset on your tv by holding the power button while the tv is on for like 5 seconds, the tv will turn off along with the soundbar, then both should turn back on, this worked for me

Thanks

I did try a hard reset several times but still no good ☹️ my friends Samsung does the same with her TCL sound bar

really annoying as my Polk sound bar showed the volume on my older and much cheaper TVs

hopefully Samsung sort this out as it’s a very common problem

Exactly the same thing with mine. New Sonos Arc sound bar and volume numbers are gone on my Samsung TV. Very frustrating. Any fix Samsung??

Samsung doesn't care about this issue. This thread started three years ago; there's no fix or comment from Samsung.
