Hi, I have a samsung K series tv - bought in 2017 and a Samsung hw-j355 bought at the same time. Up until recently the sound connect has been working flawlessly but it has now stopped turning on the the sound bar. Once on it connects and it responds to the tv remote with no problems. Why would it have stopped working?? I’ve tried removing it from the tv and re-pairing it. I’ve tried a factory reset on the tv but it hasn’t worked. I’m kind of out of ideas! Any suggestions would be welcome!

Awesome that worked for me. Thank you so much!
I tried everything from changes cables to new firmware and powering off for hours. I looked through dozenz of threads in German and English and then this simple step fix everything in 5 seconds:
Situation: Samsung tv and Samsung soundbar connected with HDMI arc anynet+ (no bluetooth in my setup)
Problem: suddenly the soundbar won’t turn on when i turn on tv. This appears «out of the blue»
Solution: On the Samsung tv, choose «TV» as Source - a blue checkmark appears showing that the current source is tv. Now use tv as normal and soundbar turns on with tv. This fixed the problem immediately.
Big thanks to Bragekb !!!

TV - UE55F6800SBXXU
SOUND BAR - HW-F551
Dear All,
I came across the same problem when I turned my tv off, the sound bar would turn off BUT NOT come back on when the tv was turned back on. Seems like the issue was to get access to the sound bar's Bluetooth function which wasn't obviously on the remote. I went back and read the manual which had the answer and worked:
- The Soundbar will be powered on automatically when you turn the TV on if you connected TV and Soundbar with the Soundshare function.
- You can toggle this function On/Off by pressing SOURCE button over 5 seconds when Soundbar is powered off. If set to Off, the product turns off automatically when the TV turns off, but it does not turn on automatically.
- This feature is supported by TV sreleased from 2013.
I hope this helps anyone struggling with this issue.
Kind Regards,
Jan

Hello,
I have a Samsung 2019 smart TV model UE43RU7470U which came with the Samsung silver smart remote.
I also brought the Samsung soundbar model number HW-N400.
I connected them via Bluetooth and everything worked fine for the first 6 months. The soundbar would turn on and off with the TV and automatically connect via Bluetooth when using the smart remote.
Suddenly about a couple of months ago the soundbar stopped turning off and on with the TV and doesn't auto connect.
I know have to turn on the soundbar on with its remote control, and then go into the TV audio settings to pair it.
Attempted using the 'power link' option on the soundbar (by pressing the left arrow for 5 seconds) but this didn't seem to help either.
Any ideas why this has suddenly happened.
Thanks in advance.

I was having the same issue with the HW-K650 Samsung soundbar and K series Samsung TV. I spent a lot of time messing with every setting on the soundbar. What finally fixed it for me was turning off the Network Standby option. On my soundbar remote, that was done by pressing the ">>I" button for 5 seconds.
There is actually a section for this ("Soundbar is not turned on by Bluetooth or Multiroom App.") in the HW-K650 online manual under the Troubleshooting section (page 33/36), which can be found here: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/2016-soundbar-w-wireless-subwoofer-hw-k650
If you don't have a HW-K650 soundbar, try looking into the Network Standby option in your respective manual.

follow instructions for putting the soundbar itself in BT pairing mode(usually by holding source) and make sure it is absent from the speaker list before re-pairing the device to the TV. Make sure BT Power Mode iis enabled as well as anynet feature. Hold arrow right/ FF button on the soundbar remote to enable anynet on the SB itself. Voila, all issues solved
