Recording TV to USB Device - Suggestions on HDD or USB Flash

I have just bought new Q95T and have connected my Samsung DVR but am unable to us the scheduler on the TV to record to the DVR or see the previous recorded programs - The TV schedule software is also different so have decided to buy a USB device to plug into the one connect box.

What specification should I go for - any suggestions or has anyone bought something similar. I was looking at the Samsung 256GB flash drive 

Samsung FIT Plus 128 GB Type-A 300 MB/s USB 3.1 Flash Drive

Would that work?

My samsung smart qled 49 tv will not recognise the flash drive, i think there is a problem

I have a Samsung UE50 and it refused to record to a 125gb 2.0 flash drive - got various error messages including 'drive too slow' and 'drive disconnected'. I purchased a 128gb 3.0 flash drive with good read/write speed and that worked fine after the tv formatted the drive
