Q-Symphony issues on Samsung S95B OLED TV with Samsung Q930B Soundbar

Like the title says, I have a Samsung S95B OLED TV with Samsung Q930B soundbar. Soundbar is connected to the HDMI eARC port on both the Soundbar and the TV.

After the configuration, the TV gets connected through Wi-Fi on the soundbar and Q-Symphony plays through Wi-Fi instead HDMI-eARC. Please see the attached screenshot. It should say TV + Soundbar Q930B (eARC) instead of TV + Soundbar Q930B (Wi-Fi).

I see few users are having similar issues and did all the troubleshooting as mentioned in this thread: Q-Symphony played through Wi-fi instead HDMI-eARC

I have the latest firmware on both the TV (1503.8) and Soundbar (1010.0) and even reset it twice so far and no luck! Any ideas how to make the sound output go through eARC port instead of Wi-Fi? Thanks in advance for any and all replies!

PS: You would think that being Samsung TV and Soundbar it will play nice but it doesn't. Btw, I connected the Soundbar to a Sony X90CK and it plays very well with Soundbar on eARC port. I bought the Samsung S95B thinking that Q-Symphony will be better but it's being a pain so far!

Try powering off everything and then start up and try, or try disconnecting the TV WIFI to force the eARC connection.

If I remove WiFi, then it switches to eARC (screenshot below) and the TV can be only used by a streaming device.  I reset the TV and started without WiFi.  In this case, the external devices are recognized and even my Fire TV Cube and Chromecast displays the correct info on the devices screen.  I see Q-Sympony greeting on the screen as it showers with some stars to convey that Q-Sympony is ON.  That's very nice but without WiFi, it becomes a display device only!

Hmmm... not sure why Samsung could not fix this issue or am I one of the few who are experiencing this?

The without WiFi was just to rule out eARC issues.
If you have a LAN connection then you don't need it.

Reset the soundbar and sub, it is usually they the problem

Reset the TV and soundbar twice so far.  No luck!

HDMI cable is NOT the issue, Soundbar is NOT the issue, only S95B has issue and waiting on Samsung *high level* tech team to come up with a response!

Some more insights below, it appears to be a classic Samsung clanger, the fix will be to buy the 95C or D (sarcastic mode)

Thank you for all your responses so far.

The reddit thread is basically about HDMI cables and in my case, that is not the case as you can see when I don't setup WiFi on the TV, eARC mode works fine (screenshot above).

It's a software issue and hopefully, Samsung updates it in the not so distant future.  I just bought the TV only 2 days ago and and can always return it but I like it so much that I don't want to take this route... yet! :smiling-face:

PS: In any case, I was NOT planning to use any of the Samsung apps as my Fire TV Cube will be my primary streaming device and seems to be working fine with eARC mode. I can turn on/off the TV and it automatically turns off the soundbar too - just like how eARC should work.

And, the Samsung remote also works with Fire TV, which is nice!

Got an update from Samsung high level tech team.  Looks like a firwmare bug and have to wait for them to push it. Bummer!

Just to say that unless you imput high quality 5.1 sound source your Q Symphony will never work, it took me 2 years to get mine to work. Aso had Samsung tech team onboard also remote access...
So if you have Amazon Prime Video search for Tubular Bells 50 year anniversary music video and play this through your system and hopefully you might hear it working properly.

Q Symphony issues.

Purchased S95D 55 in and Q600C soundbar in mid June, 2024.  Cannot get the Q Symphony to work properly.  One Chat conversation and one telephone conversation with Samsung reps (both reps were very good to deal with), however, Q Symphony with TV + Sound bar still not working.  When the TV and soundbar are turned off and restarted, sound switches to TV speakers only.  Many factory resets and deletion of Hub - nothing worked.

Such a disappointment and even a greater disappointment that Samsung has not fixed this problem!
