I brought this product as it advertised on the samsung website as alexa built in (requires smart things app).
I understood 'alexa built in' to mean i could speak directly to the soundbar, waking with the 'alexa' command and ask it to play music.
Does this product support such process?
I've managed to connect the device to wifi and got it working in q symphony through tv arc and via bluetooth.
It's set up in smart things and all working there. I've conneced smart things to alexa and it's auto populated the sound bar in my alexa app. i can use the alexa app to turn it on and off and as another alexa device in the house to turn it on and off. That all works.
Any help greatly appreciated!

You're correct in your understanding that "Alexa built-in" typically means you can speak directly to the device using the wake word "Alexa" without needing an external Alexa device. However, the Samsung HW-S701D soundbar does not support this feature. While it can be controlled via the Alexa app after linking through SmartThings, it does not have a built-in microphone to listen for voice commands directly.
