HW-Q700A No Sound over Spotify Connect Wifi - FIXED

Update:

Fixed the problem. Turned everything off, restarted all devices swapped the Wi-Fi from using my extender to connecting directly to the router, deleted and re-added the soundbar and then it worked. Not sure what part of this made the difference but it fixed. I am not sure how to delete with post now but thank you if you did stop to read it.

Hello everyone,
I am wondering if anyone can help shed any light on this issue?
My HW-Q700A soundbar is connected on my home Wi-Fi with no problem, the smart things app finds it, Spotify lists it as a device and the soundbar display responds when it turns the volume up and down through both the apps. However, there is no sound from the bar at all in this mode.
Bluetooth audio connects with no issue so the bar definitely works, just not over Spotify and Wi-Fi.

Any suggestions would be welcome as it all appears to connect but with no sound.

Many thanks

Yes thats true but it isn't the long-therm solution. We hope that Samsung and Spotify find a solution.

Good Morning all,

I want to give you an update on what happened yesterday on the subject.

1. Yesterday I contacted the Spotify support (chat) and described the problem. They couldn't help me and asked me to email the matter to support (support@spotify.com) now I'm waiting for a response.

2. Yesterday I received the first written response from Samsung support about this:

"Good day,

Thank you very much for your email. I looked at the matter.

We are not yet aware of such a series defect, so I assume that your product has a technical defect.

If this error should also occur with the new product, you are welcome to contact us by e-mail or by phone.

I hope I was able to help you with the answer and I am happy to answer any further questions you may have.

Kind regards from Schwalbach "

My request to you Comunnity members, report the above problem to Samsung Support (hotline@email.support.samsung.com or hotline@samsung.de)

The problem will only be taken up and acted upon if enough reports are received by Samsung.

Currently the problem does not seem to be known to Samsung or I am apparently the only one who reported the problem according to Samsung and therefore they assume that it is not a serial problem.

When I suggested that you have a look at the community entries, so far only responded with an answer, please write us an email.

Thank you in advance for your support, together we can make a difference!

Same experience with my Q700a: No sound through Spotify Connect since yesterday, even though everything seems to run smoothly and all other functions are intact.

Very annoyed, since spotify connect was one of the main arguments for that soundbar. Get it fixed Samsung!

@Bright1

Experiencing the same with my q950a. Did your claimed fix resolve the issue permanently for you?
