On my TV I do have the latest firmware (1361.0) installed, seemingly over the air (OTA) and it is the version that is supposed to incorporate the eARC support. This has been officially confirmed by Samsung officials Could be ...
It should for the soundbar as well! It has the latest firmware as well through SmartThings: version 1010.5. It is said that, upon start, the display of the soundbar should read
TV
eARC
but is simply keeps on displaying
T|C
ARC
So, Samsung, please, shed some light in here! What is the current situation? I do have a 8K HDMI 2.1 cable already hooked up on port HDMI 3 (ARC) of the TV and HDMI ARC out of the soundbar itself.

Thank you for your contributions to this lingering topic.
Despite of the controversial insights whether or not the eARC support is included in the most recent firmware of the Samsung Harman Kardon HW-Q90R soundbar (1010.5) it was brought to my attention that a Dutch product specialist stated that this firmware does not include eARC! They said it is supposed to be there in the very next firmware release! How's that??
With regret I must conclude that Samsung, despite of their excellent AV products, is way behind as far as communicatiion, support organization, and transparency are concerned!

Is there any news yet about the eARC update for the Samsung Q85R/Q90R tv models?
On the US community website the customers are very angry towards Samsung US.
They promised an update and the customers can not cropp that other brands like LG and Sony have the benefit of connecting Samsung soundbars on their tv's and the Samsung tv customers can not.
It is all about trust and support.
I hope there will be a fast respons from Samsung . . . i am delaying my buy for a Samsung tv because of this too.

Thanks to Samsung's secrecy we only know that for the QE55Q90R it is in "pending" state and for the Harman Kardon HW-Q90R soundbar it seems to have been released! Source: reddit.com and not Samsung!
My TV provider just released a firmware for my STB wíth information what is new and what has been improved in their firmware. That is how things should be Samsung!!
