BD-E5500 3D Blu-ray Player, Smart Hub apps slow or give errors

Hi, I have owned my BD-E5500 since new.

 

It has the latest but now quite old firmware ver 1020.1.

 

It is connected to the internet via a wired ethernet connection. The internet speed measures 10MBS at that point.

 

The Smart Hub is very slow, apps take ages to load and for example youtube is unusable because of the very slow responce when typing in the search box. ITV Hub loads then always gives an error, i have reset the smart hub, uninstalling the apps and reinstalling them but it is still awful. Any help would be much appreciated.

 

I hoped that Samsung would bring out a firmware upgrade that would increase the smart hub performance but I guess it is now unsupported.

Hey @harleydee,

 

Have you tried resetting the Blu-ray Player or just the Smart Hub? You could also try a different Ethernet cable just to rule out whether this is an issue with the connection to the internet.
