Hi Guys,

I've performed the firmware update 1012.6 for my HW-Q90R soundbar via USB drive. (currently doesn't work with smarthings app)

Given that there is no official statement from Samsung with the details of the update I would like to check with the community what new features have been included.

Also how should be the list bellow if the firmware 1012.6 is correctly applied to all components  ?

Thank you :smiling-face:

M 0133.0
B 1012.6
H 0051.0
FD 0040.0
W 0240.0
S 0136.0
RR 0136.0
RL 0136.0

Interesting, since everyone here is saying exactly the opposite! 😄

By the way, no problem here with the subwoofer after updating...

April 5th 2021 and I have a problem with the rear speakers the updates look correct and the codes look smack on except for 2 of them... The W is 241.0...amd the biggest problem I'm having is that the blue and red light don't show on the rear speaker.. I get a RR 0000.0 and in the firmware check it says RR NG. can anyone help me out with this as I believe the rear module didn't update... Wondering why the blue light would just disappear after attempting firmware updates and searching for the test tone button as if it seems that if you hold down the sound mode button on remote it will give you a test tone cycle allowing you to calibrate all speakers to the exact volume with an SPL metre then I saw a blue light doesn't exist on the rear speaker anymore called up a techie suggested it could be a module does this sound accurate anyone please with any information help as there is no warranty on this unit

Could this be a module issue and what does this mean for the Soundbar or is the module in the speaker itself thank you if anyone could help.

Thanks. Interesting what is the pattern then. @mauromol  what TV/Receivers do you use? Any upsampling enabled?

This is why you don't update, as they are beta updates if you download from website. There is a good delay before they come to smart things as they are usually the finished update and out of beta stage

@denodan they are published on webpage as official firmware without any indication of being a beta release. I don't see why we should threat them as such.

Because they are beta, and this is why the delay going to smart things as the the last kinks get ironed out.

All the issues from practically everyone, was downloaded from website to usb, dont hear much problems using smart things. Also using the usb method is a bit of a hit or miss and not as a stable method as just letting smart things update it.

It's the thing happens with tvs getting the firmware from website rather than allowing tv to auto update. Its the same as pc programs, often in beta first when ok goto auto download when stable tested firmware, tv manufacturers do this, while pcs have adopted this for years and don't always tell you its beta software. Its a  ommon practice to release firmware updates before they go auto update way

I did this update on the smart thing app then, then I did a sound test to calibrate.. Then I saw that the blue light was non existent on the rear right speaker I did the firmware check when all the codes come up and it showed everything was perfect except for the rear right showing 000. 0 I then did a power on keypad pushed up down to do the sub and rear update it showed sub okay rear left okay then showed RR NG.. what the heck does NG mean does anyone know is this module that is faulty and if so where is the module in the speaker itself or the soundbar maybe I can try rolling back the firmware if that is possible

This is not a TV issue no or upscaling in any way it is simply a soundbar problem wondering if anyone has had this issue where the code says 0000 as well as saying RR NG
