I have the new smart tag 2 model. I bought the 4 pack and picked it up directly from the Samsung store in NYC. 3 of the tags work as advertised. One of the tags battery reported low after 3 days then stopped working. I purchased new Duracell 2032 batteries and this device went through both batteries each about 3 days of runtime before reporting low battery. This is one of the black tags in the pack. I think there may have been some type of manufacturing defects that rolled over from last gen as this was an issue previously and is still happening on generation 2. What is the resolution to this issue Samsung? Is Samsung going fix, replace, refund or will they just ignore?

I think it might be the cold weather.
I have the four pack also. I use all four. The only one that keeps reporting low battery is my key chain tag which is more directly exposed to the weather than my other tags.

I have seen the same thing over the last few weeks with SmartTag2 and original SmartTag. I was starting to think that maybe it's something software wise after an update, or maybe the SmartThings app is constantly hitting the device?
RIght now changing the battery gets be between 2 days and weeks before the next battery low notifications, this is using a name brand (Duracell) battery

This is the same exact problem they had with the smart tag Plus and that never got addressed or fixed. There are thousands of complaints about battery draining within 30 days especially in cold weather. The only difference between the smart tag plus and the smart tag 2 Is there claimed battery life which is absolutely ridiculous. Samsung states they have no fix for it other than to send yours in and you pay for shipping and they will send you another one which will do the same exact thing. My advice is don't fight the big corporate Giants in their price gouging greed. I recommend not buying these devices as they are a useless tracking device. There are way better tracking devices for the same money or a little more that don't rely on other Samsung Galaxy users to ping their trackers.

One point to add to my posting. I live in Texas so the "... when it gets cold" point just doesn't apply to me.
I still feel like something must have change in Software since all the tags started to exhibit this recently, even after battery changes the first 6+ months were fine

Every couple of months my Tag 2 says low battery. If I disconnect the battery and reconnect it says the charge is fine.
There is clearly somnething wrong with the Tag 2 and I suspect a lot of people who have replaced the battery probably did not need to.

Same issue. Massive drain on Samsung smart tag 1. Reporting less than 5% after 1 day. Also getting alerts on smart tag 2 after a new battery

I have the exact same issue. My smart tag 2 was find for a few months, then battery drained. Now they last 2 weeks.
