I have the new smart tag 2 model. I bought the 4 pack and picked it up directly from the Samsung store in NYC. 3 of the tags work as advertised. One of the tags battery reported low after 3 days then stopped working. I purchased new Duracell 2032 batteries and this device went through both batteries each about 3 days of runtime before reporting low battery. This is one of the black tags in the pack. I think there may have been some type of manufacturing defects that rolled over from last gen as this was an issue previously and is still happening on generation 2. What is the resolution to this issue Samsung? Is Samsung going fix, replace, refund or will they just ignore?

Hey @tee33thomas06
Sounds a little odd, in comparison to the other three that are working fine. I'd definitely advise getting in touch with the store so they can look into this with you.

Same here 2 dead tags in 2 weeks, don't they test these bloody things before putting them in to production. It's over a lot of forums, samsung is the worse company on the planet to deal with too.

I was told I can't return it because it is apart of a pack of 4. I explained that the other 3 are working just fine. The attendants further explained it is standard practice to not accept an individual because it was apart of this 4 pack. So basically I would have to bring every tag back to this store in order to get the one defective tag 2 replaced. This is not an acceptable solution to my problem especially because they sale them individually.

Actually the Samsung store associates were unwilling to take them back. They told me the return was more than 14 days after purchase so they couldn't accept them even if I had all 4 for the return. I told them I was out of country and handled the matter as soon as I got a moment to. When the faulty tag 2 indicated low battery I had it changed then 3 days later the same low battery happened again. After the 2nd attempt with same result I figured Id take it back and ask for another tag. The troubleshooting burnt my time and once I realized it was a faulty device and got the opportunity to go into the samsung store this is the reasoning I was presented with. Seems like a bad practice especially with the number of people that have the same issues with the Tag 2s. This is the consequence of being a good Samsung customer I guess. I am going to contact support to see if there is anything they can do but so far no real resolution to the issue.

I think it may be a production line error somewhere. Quality control and testing or fabrication but definitely a reoccurring event. I own a total lf 6 of the new smart tags a one has caused me all of my issues with the other 5 working as marketed.
