Can anyone help me out? I'm getting really frustrated, I've tried numerous times to set up my new smart tag and my phone acknowledges the device etc and i get to a certain stage and percentage in SmartThings when i will get a Bluetooth error. I have also reset it numerous times and just cant get no where with it. Please help!! Thank you.

I'm a communications engineer, I design and build test systems to test communications hardware, I work with all kinds of technologies and protocols, yet I never could get my first tag to connect so I sent it back. I then ordered two more of the SmartTag+ tags and both of them connected literally instantly without the first problem to that same phone, so I strong suspect someone at Samsung mislabeled a shipment of tags destined for another country that uses different frequencies or something like that and sent them to the US, at least based on the sheer number of complaints I have seen across all manner of boards. What is MASSIVELY disappointing is how Samsung has tried to play dumb about all this like it is user issues, and treat each one of us like we live on an island by ourselves and that we don't have enough sense to corroborate among ourselves and figure out somebody at Samsung really blew it in a major way with this product rollout. It really shakes my faith in the management at Samsung, I really had higher expectations for them and they really let all of us down.

I had the same with a Samsung S7, I reset the tag and all ok now.
Remove battery > hold button > replace battery > device beeped and all ok

Mine worked fine for two years until there was an update to smart things now it doesn't work and isn't fit for purpose
