Samsung Galaxy A8 with Gear VR - Connection issue

Hello,

I have Samsung Galaxy A8 and compatible Gear VR headset and after Samsung update it doesn't work... about one year.

Samsung lies to people about support so they buy a headset and then it doesn't work.
They promise and don't solve problems.

If you have any solution let me know. I tried this How to Use Gear VR in 2024 - YouTube but problem is same.

Officially the A8 devices require the SM-R325. The SM-R324 might be fine as well but that would be your risk to take.

Don't get the SM-R323 as the Type-C connector is different and wont facilitate proper device alignment. And it doesn't come bundled with the Gear VR controller anyway, which you want.

I was under the impression gear vr was deprecated many years ago. Modern apps and software don't work with it anymore. I am aware using older apk files and developer mode tricks can get it working again though.

Google cardboard is the modern alternative by the way

Gear vr, place phone in device, phone is vr headset. Old and no longer working.

Google cardboard, place phone in device, phone is vr headset. Still updated and still works. You can buy fancy and nice headsets, you don't need to use actual cardboard. I'm just telling you the modern version of gear vr. You might even be able to use a profile for your gear vr headset so google cardboard works with it.

Cardboard even works on my s25 ultra

Gear vr will work if you spend a while with guides and apk files you find online

Gear VR will be only compatible with devices that have software upto Android 11.
Android 12 removed the Gear VR compatibility in 2021
This is because Apps either no longer would support the VR headset or the Apps were just removed from the store.
Either way the software of the newer Android platforms would no longer support it

I have  SM-R325 with controller but there is no solution.
After factory reset is same result.
