Wrist detection on Watch4

My watch will work fine until I take it off to shower or charge, and when I put it back on, it no longer detects it's on a wrist. The green light no longer flashes, and it stops measuring my heart rate. This is disappointing as it's the main reason I purchased the watch. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I'd first suggest to Clear the Cache of your watch > https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyWatch/comments/1bo0nq2/reminder_to_wipe_cache 

If that fails to help then clean the sensors on the back of the watch. 

If all else fails maybe consider resetting the watch.
