Why does it take five button presses to get in and out of "Find my Phone"?

First I flick to get to the app. Then I have to carefully aim my digit at the Find my Phone bar, which is now packed in very tightly with View location of my devices (do people use this on a watch? seems like the map would be a bit difficult to interpret given that it is about the size of a quarter). Successfully hit Find my phone - and look away from watch (every single time) because I am assuming it will start pinging it - after all, I just hit Find my phone.  Wait and listen for a few seconds then look back and watch and see that indeed, I have to press a new button - the only choice available to me after I have hit the initial Find my phone - which is - drumroll please...Find my phone. Once I hit that I start hearing the long awaited chirps of my phone from wherever I have left it and hit the button on the phone to get it to shut up. Assume that my watch now knows that I have indeed found my phone and knows to exit that application. Nope. I go to look at what time it is hours later and what is on the face of my watch? You guessed it - Find my phone. Usually I am driving my car or have my hands otherwise occupied and have to wait to free up the digits of my opposite hand for not one but TWO presses to back out of the app the way I came in. It makes me wonder if all of your designers use Apple watches and have no idea what a pain in the ass this process is.

As an aside, I am a notorious phone misplacer and that function is without a doubt the main reason I need the watch.

The number two reason to have a  watch is so I continue to get vibration notifications of text messages that don't disturb my co-workers as I go in and out of meetings all day. That function used to be rock solid. I would set the phone to "Mute notifications on phone" and "Sync do not disturb with phone." Voila. When I had my watch on (which is always), I would get vibrations during the day, and nothing to awaken me at night when I was asleep. NOW the watch notifications turn off and on without any rhyme or reason and I miss things all the time.

Unless you're misplacing your phone once every 10 minutes, 5 button presses is really no big deal lol. Its a feature that the majority of people dont use daily

Hi and Welcome.

Have you tried using voice either via Bixby or Google?

I have never need to use it but you could have a go and see if it makes your life easy. 😊
