I find it absolutely shocking that a company as large as Samsung continues to pull (what I think is a very Apple move) stunts to lock people into it's ecosystem.

I recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy Watch 7, brought the 44mm LTE model, paid a small fortune for it and paired it with my S22 ultra.

However a perfect trade in deal on the Pixel 9 Pro XL meant I upgraded. To be completely shocked and appaled that Samsung limits the ECG and blood pressure feature to Samsung phones only. Completely locking people into the Samsung platform?

This is a joke, now, I thought I at least still have my S22 ultra ..... nope... can't pair it with more than 1 phone. Typical!

Come on Samsung, cut us a break, don't give us some "compatability" nonsense we know ***** well other phones can support this. If the pixel watch does it for every phone you can do.

PLEASE give us all the Health Monitor App!

If it was an Apple watch it would only work with an iPhone and nothing else. As for pairing with 2 phones at the same time I don't think any of the watches do that. There are work arounds, try this thread https://xdaforums.com/t/how-to-get-ecg-and-bp-gw5.4533063/ it might help but personally I wouldn't want to.

Specific to the health related functions, there is also the matter of agency certification, where you need to demonstrate the entire software package to work in a consistent and compliant manner.

Why would anyone check to see if an Android Phone would behave like a spoiled iPhone?  The reason most people are hard nosed Android users is that iPhone try to control everything you do - everything you use, everything you can buy.  For Samsung to do the exact same thing makes me think I'll go all-in on Pixel next time.

I see you did not get the general concept of health and medical devices requiring government issued certification. You cannot obtain blanket certification for a random combination of hardware and software.

Regarding what your brain thought is the brilliant solution: You will find that the health functions in Google Pixel watches also work with Google phones only. Go ahead, for entertainment purposes, let us hear your explanation how that makes for a less vendor-bound situation.
