Samsung, Where's the Battery Breakthrough? πŸ”‹ (Galaxy Watch Ultra, Buds 3 Pro, S24 Ultra - Same Old Story

Alright, Samsung community, let's talk about the elephant in the room: battery life. I've been a loyal Samsung user for years, and I've invested in the latest and greatest – the Galaxy Watch Ultra, Buds 3 Pro, and what will soon be the S25 Ultra (assuming it mirrors the S24). And honestly? I'm frustrated.

It feels like we're stuck in a battery life time warp. Every year, we get new devices with amazing features, but the battery performance? It's consistently...meh.

 * Galaxy Watch Ultra: Supposed to be the ultimate endurance watch, but I'm still constantly worried about it making it through a full day, especially with heavy GPS usage or sleep tracking.

 * Galaxy Buds 3 Pro: Great sound, but I'm always scrambling for the charging case halfway through my workday.

 * S24/S25 Ultra (projected): Flagship phone, but the battery life is just adequate, not exceptional. I'm still managing power, not enjoying the device.

Why is this? We see advancements in chip technology, display efficiency, and software optimization. Yet, battery life remains a constant struggle.

I have a few questions for Samsung and the community:

 * Why isn't there a more significant focus on battery breakthroughs? Are we hitting fundamental limitations, or is it a matter of priorities?

 * Are software optimizations truly maximizing battery efficiency, or are they just Band-Aid solutions?

 * Why do competitors sometimes seem to offer better battery performance with similar hardware?

 * Why can't the watch ultra have a week long battery life?

I'm not asking for miracles, but I'm tired of the battery anxiety. I'm tired of constantly charging my devices. I want to enjoy the full potential of my Samsung ecosystem without worrying about running out of juice.

Anyone else feeling this way? What are your experiences? Let's discuss and hopefully get Samsung's attention. #Samsung #GalaxyWatchUltra #GalaxyBuds3Pro #S24Ultra #S25Ultra #BatteryLife #Tech #MobileTech #Frustration

This surprises me. I have also the Samsung Buds 3 pro, the watch ultra, and a galaxy s25 ultra.

The phone typically manages between 9 to 10 hours of screen time... usually across nearly 2 days.

The buds last for around 3 hours per session before they need to go into the case, but then within an hour or so they are ready for another 3+ hour session. I believe i would get 5 or 6 recharges from the case. My ears also after 3 hours or so get uncomfortable and need a rest and breathe.

The watch ultra lasts me for around 3 days per charge. Admittedly I dont do large quantities of exercise, but I do use smart features and a lot of the health tests, ECG. Blood pressure etc.

So my experience seems completely different from yours.

On the battery side, I believe samsung do play it a bit safe, but after suffering the very public and massive costs of the note 7 debacle... I think they are a believer of sticking with what works... and totally reliable approach. 5000mAh seems a sweet spot... obviously some do have more.

I would say year on year due to processor efficiency, the battery life all gets better 'under the hood' and even if on paper the size has not changed. This is definately true to see with the S25 ultra... my battery shows large improvements over my earlier S23u.

Some new battery tech is becoming available... in solid state silicon batteries, but it is also adding risks until it is a more known technology. I mean who wants a repeat of a publicly humiliating event which costed millions to resolve.

I recall at the time that Note7 phones were catching fire, exploding, and also people were asked before boarding planes if they had a note 7 in their pocket. If they did they had to leave the plane ! The costs and humiliation this caused, I believe changed the thinking of Samsung battery technology even to this day. But this was now a very long time ago and the latest 8 or 9 years has been very reliable. But I can certainly understand a reluctance to be an early adoptor of any new technologies... until they are proven and more known.

Charging speeds is another bug bear for many. I just dont understand when 45W charging takes 1hr20 or so... and 80W takes some 40 mins. Why is the world is such a rush all the time ! A one time charge every 1 to 2 days that takes 40 minutes more. I mean really....

Those with complaints about charging speeds are probably also the ones that decide to buy a wireless magsafe and choose to reduce their charging to lower levels by their own choices. Increase charging heat and perhaps causing other issues. Personally I for one am not a wireless charging fan... and always default to a wired charger. πŸ˜‰

Of course this is only my opinion, and i understand in these ' spec wars ' between manufacturers why they have words to say... but i really do not see any of these as limitations to the latest Samsung S25 hardware.

I do respect other people's opinions... these are just my own thoughts.

Noticed improved battery life in the Ultra phones every year despite having "the same" size battery. S25 Ultra has been no different. The watch I agree, battery life is pretty weak, especially compared to my older Huawei watch, but I guess it is more advanced. Even so, I can't really justify 1 to 2 days from my watch 6 Vs about 3 weeks on my Huawei. The buds are about similar as they've always been with battery life, never run out on me in over 3 to 4 hours, so no issues with them whatsoever. So to answer your query, no I do not really feel the same as your experiences.
