Samsung watch issues with exercise stopping

I am having issues with my Samsung watch 5pro.

Everytime I start a workout it stops after a few minutes and says "seems like you've stopped. Finish workout? 

I have turned off auto detect workout and also reset the watch but it is still doing it. The watch is snug on my wrist and I haven't had this issue before. I ly in the last few weeks. 

Any tips or advice welcome.

Hi again, watch 6 outdid itself this morning and failed four times on a 7km cycle commute.  Including once about three seconds after the countdown, I was still watching the watch when it asked if I was done, while moving.

If the watch does this while I'm running I'm out. Otherwise gonna keep posting every time it fails. 

Samsung please respond.

I found a solution.

BUY A GARMIN WATCH !

After months of frustration i have decided to ditch my Samsung watch and switch to garmin.

Today after one hour of swimming I got out of the water and only have 7 mins of workout recorded.

I'm training for a triathlon and this is just ridiculous.

I upgraded from my galaxy watch 3 to the 5 pro expecting improvements but it was a total waste of money.

I will try to sell this watch and take a loss and get a garmin. NON of the people that train with me using garmin have  any issue.

I love samsung phones but I will NEVER buy another samsung watch EVER

Yeah I've ditched it now. Moved to whoop. Won't be buying Samsung again after this.

After 4 samsung watches, have bought a garmin forerunner.  Was devastated to see someone having the same issue on a watch 7 ultra so made the jump. 

So far, not a single drop from the garmin.

Has Samsung responded in anyway? This is ridiculous. I upgraded to this watch and it is rubbish for workouts. Will go back to my trusty Garmin I think.

Nope. Samsung just keeps acting like they have no idea what's going on. It a software problem. Seems like an easy fix with an update but who knows when and if they'll ever do it. Never buying samsung again.

I have the ultra and it just started doing it since the last update. Absolutely ridiculous a watch of this price to be having this simple issue with no fix.  Initially I thought I was bumping the big orange button then I realized I was not..

I can see you have some tatoos. I did the same experience with my left arm tattooed
Please try the other hand if you have no tatto on it.

I think, the heart sensor not working has expecting due to the black from tattoo.

I have no tatts, and the HR tracking did not stop.  I suspect flaky GPS but the speed - calculated by GPS - also did not stop when the finished workout prompt came up. 

We are all sitting here waiting on Samsung to un-break the software.
