Last night I decided to pull out my Samsung Galaxy Buds Live, mine were free as part of a promotion back in 2020. Now mine were in the shiny shiny gold, I hadn't used mine in several years so charged them up fully and set them up.
A little context before I go any further, I have never gotten on well with any open style earbuds (the types with no silicone tips) airpods are completely unusable for me for example, they fall out within 5 seconds.
The Buds Live are to this day the only open style Buds that work for me. Stay in secure, never fall out and they do block out external sound with the help of a little ANC.
They look like kidney beans, but the design team behind these don't get enough recognition for producing these. They connected to my S24 Ultra with zero issues and even had an update waiting. Bluetooth 5.0, Codecs AAC and Samsungs own HQ SSC, these things haven't aged a bit.
I forgot how incredible these sound, I use Tidal at its Max quality and the buds live shocked me. They are loud, clear, great bass, treble, mids, vocals etc but the separation and sound stage stills destroys many of the competition in 2024.
I am amazed that being open style that I find the bass exactly as I like it and believe me when I say every other open earbud fails miserably on this. The music from these sounds so free, open, big and full of energy.
They provide a great balance between hearing your surroundings and music, I usually have my music cranked. I have sent hours listening to music since last night with the buds live and Samsung, kudos 👏 you produced something very special in the buds live. Anyone else still use there's or have a pair collecting dust? I urge you to give them a try after all these years, the buds live and still legendary in my eyes.
