Samsung active 2 watch screen cannot brighten

My watch is about 2 years old and today the screen became very dark with the colors not accurately displaying.  I have tried a complete reset, removed all watch faces, adjusted all setting pertaining to brightness and nothing restores it. I haven't had any impacts or drops or water damage. It was fine wearing it this morning. What can I do to fix this?

@ELOfan: I appreciate that you may have attempted some of these steps already, however please can you try heading to Settings > Display > Auto Low Brightness, and toggle this off if it is active. While you're in the Display setting, tap on Brightness and press the '+' icon to increase the brightness. You may also wish to try Settings > Battery > Power Saving, and uncheck this feature (if applicable). Let me know if this helps.
