The so called return policy is a joke not only do they not refund any discount from a "trade in" but they also deduct a minimum of 20% off your refund, which means the price you originally splashed out is reduced considerably.

I wont be buying any more Samsung products in the future if they think it's ok to " rip off" long standing customers.
Maybe it's time to think of a decent manufacturer with morals, if there are any!

If you haven't broken the seal, then full refund is due of what you actually paid.
The issue of the value of the trade in is thorny. My own view is that they should return your device or pay in full but the law doesn't appear to support that.
For myself, all of these changes make me far less likely to buy my next device from Samsung.

They let you know about it all before purchasing.
The trade in you would not get money back from any company for that.
But definitely read everything and understand it before you part with any money.
There are companies that will charge and take quite a lot of money off if you open the packaging a device comes in. As its effectively a second hand device
I can never stress enough to understand the terms and conditions of anything someone buys
