Mobile plan for watches

I have the Galaxy watch ultra, when setting this up, I have a message that says my network provider doesn't offer mobile plans for watches. So I'm a little annoyed at myself for not checking this out 1st. How else do I use my watch without my phone?.

It will connect to your phone via Bluetooth or WiFi. However out of range of your phone means you can still use the basic functions but not everything. When you reconnect with your phone it will sync with it.

Your watch will work OK as long as you have your phone with you and have it connected to your watch. Samsung has a list of supported providers, so you could get an eSim from one of these. There are reports that it's not easy to set up a different provider on the watch to what you have on your phone. I am not sure why this should be true.
