I don’t understand why the restriction is put in place.
My situation:
I bought 3 galaxy Tab S9 for my children all under the age of 12.
The tablets all came with a galaxy watch 6 lte as a promotion. (Which was why i decided to purchase)
My children do not have mobile phones as i don’t want them to at their age.
As they came together and all the same brand (Galaxy) i had expected them to all work to seamlessly.
To my surprise my children can’t use their new watches as i now know they not compatible with the tablets they came with.
This is a ludicrous situation and I can’t see a logical explanation for this restriction.
I have 3 useless watches which i was hoping to get lte contract so they are contactable and trackable without having a phone.
Please can someone within samsung push for this to be changed in the samsung wear app.
It seems this is a simple matter of just removing some few lines code within the app that prevents this from working.

I agree with @Backwards - this would be useful. Personally, for me I would like to connect my ring & watch to my tablet as a backup due to the fact my phone has had to go to Samsung for repair. There is no way to know e.g. how much power my ring has until my phone is returned. I am not able to see my sleep stats or view workouts etc because it is only possible to connect my buds to my tablet. Seems remiss from Samsung not to allow connection of watch & ring to tablet.

I find it incredibly frustrating that Samsung has imposed this seemingly arbitrary limitation preventing smartwatch connections to their tablets. As a Samsung ecosystem user, I expect seamless integration across all my devices. Many of us use tablets as our primary devices, especially at home or for work, and being unable to pair our Galaxy Watches with them significantly reduces functionality and convenience.
This limitation feels particularly outdated in 2025 when device ecosystem integration is standard across other manufacturers. Samsung promotes their connected ecosystem in marketing materials, yet this basic functionality remains unavailable.
I hope Samsung will reconsider this restriction in future updates. The technical capability clearly exists—this appears to be a business decision rather than a technical limitation. What's your experience with this issue? Have you found any workarounds?
