Gear S3 Making and receiving calls

I have the Gear S3 Frontier UK/Europe version so no LTE. I know that I should be able to answer and make calls from the watch using the built in speaker and mic (as long as it is connected by bluetooth)

My issue is I can not do this.

When I try to make a call I select the contact and press the green call symbol and nothing happens.

When receiving a call I only get the option to reject the call not receive it.

I am using a One plus 5 with the latest software.

No idea how or why but I just turned my Gear off and on again and all call functions are working...
