Gear S3 Classic Overheating during charge

Hi,

 

I had put my gear s3 on charge this morning and when I returned there was an exclamation mark with a thermometer on it and my watch was only at 38%. I have seen on another forum someone had the same issue and said that once it starts overheating the battery was never the same. Should I contact Samsung directly or would anyone be able to help me here ?
