Galaxy Watch6 Classic - How to change watch name on non-samsung android phones

I am using a non-samsung smartphone with the Galaxy Watch6 Classic and would like to change the default 'Galaxy Watch6 Classic' identifier to something unique and personal. On the Galaxy Wearable app, there is not edit button visible to perform this. 
Help needed.

You can edit identifiers on the smartthings app. If you have it

I may not be going about it the right way, I can't seem to add my Galaxy Watch6 Classic to the SmartThings app. Note the app is installed on my watch and phone

Have you tried scanning to add new device within smartthings app?

If you go into wearable app. Scroll to bottom to about watch in settings. You can edit it there. Hope that helps.

I checked on this again, and there was no option to edit the device name.

Go to the about watch, and then you should see rename near the top

I succeeded in changing my GW6 name to the desired identifier, by going to my phone's bluetooth settings. more settings ....(where it shows all the bluetooth devices the phone have paired with and can connect to), tapping on the GW6 option for details, there is an options to Rename device.
